Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov took part in the opening of the 10th International Forum and Exhibition “High Technologies of the 21st Century”

Speaking at the opening of the forum, Mr Ivanov said, in particular, that Russia will continue developing high technologies despite the financial crisis. "For several years, the Russian Government has been paying special attention to diversification and creating new high technology products, which will allow us to enhance the quality of life, and make our economy more competitive and independent," he said. The Deputy Prime Minister believes that during the crisis, high technologies are acquiring special importance. "We have no choice but to develop science-related technologies and bring high-tech products to the market," Mr Ivanov stressed. 

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that "Russia can and will keep its world-leading position in nanotechnologies and shipbuilding."
