First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov chaired a meeting of the Government Technical Regulation Commission

Participants:
The Commission named as the main priority in the field of technical regulation early adoption of the following regulations: on the safety of buildings and structures, building materials, lifts and food products.

The meeting stressed the need to concentrate in 2009 the efforts of all the federal executive bodies and the business community on adopting 17 priority technical regulations expressly envisaged in the Law On Technical Regulation.

The Commission named as the main priority in the field of technical regulation early adoption of the following regulations: on the safety of buildings and structures, building materials, lifts and food products.

The importance of such a requirement as energy efficiency of products in developing the relevant technical regulations was also stressed.

The Commission pronounced itself in favour of banning budget allocations for the development of other technical regulations not included in the list of the 17 priorities.
