Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the Yury Gagarin Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association (KNAAPO) as part of his working trip to the Far Eastern Federal District

Prime Minister Putin visited several of the enterprise's production areas. In the engineering section, the Prime Minister was shown how aircraft features and components are designed.

During his tour of the military aircraft final assembly plant, the Prime Minister familiarised himself with aircraft from the Sukhoi series: the SU-30MK2, the SU-27SM and the SU-35 multi-role fighters.

The Prime Minister also toured the final assembly section for the Superjet 100 medium-haul passenger aircraft. In particular, Prime Minister Putin was shown how the aircraft's fuselage is assembled, and was also given a demonstration of the engine model used in Superjet 100 planes.

During his visit, the Prime Minister said that Sukhoi Civil Aircraft will receive the following: 6.8 billion roubles in state support for the Superjet 100 project, 3.2 billion roubles to increase KNAAPO's share capital, and 3.6 billion roubles to be invested as part of the Federal Target Programme to develop civil aviation. Prime Minister Putin said that this increased financing was attributed to "the given rise in prices of manufacturing and components."
