"At the same time, the Defence Ministry must by all means ensure the implementation of all previously adopted plans for the development of the Armed Forces. It goes without saying that the companies concerned must streamline their operation, while ministries and departments should provide them with the required funds so that they can obtain contracts more quickly."

Vladimir Putin's introductory remarks:

Good evening,

Today, we'll discuss the development of the military-industrial complex. Needless to say, in the current conditions we should examine our priorities very attentively.

At the same time, the Defence Ministry must by all means ensure the implementation of all previously adopted plans for the development of the Armed Forces. It goes without saying that the companies concerned must streamline their operation, while ministries and departments should provide them with the required funds so that they can obtain contracts more quickly.

The time has come to sign the relevant documents - it is already the middle of February. Both the heads of companies and the governors of the regions heavily involved in the defence industry are asking for accelerated decision-making.

Let's examine these problems more attentively, and discuss the issues pertaining to the development of the military-industrial complex.
