Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin convened a joint meeting of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) Council on Financial and Economic Policy and the EurAsEC Council of Heads of Central Banks
After the meeting, Mr Kudrin announced the decision that by March 1, 2009 EurAsEC was to elaborate proposals on international financial architecture. He said that a special working group was set up to prepare the proposals. Another working group will develop a joint EurAsEC programme on countering the consequences of the global financial crisis. The programme should be drawn up by January 12, 2009.
Mr Kudrin said that the meeting discussed anti-crisis measures and the state of the member-states' economies.
