Meeting with Moldovan Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanii

Participants:
"As for bilateral relations, a great deal was achieved just recently. This year alone has seen a spectacular increase of trade."

Transcript of the start of the meeting:

Zinaida Greceanii: Mr Putin, I am happy to greet you here in our Government building. I think our economic and interregional bilateral partnership will be very effective.

We resolved many issues in both our countries' interests when we met in June. Our future partnership is certain to be to great success, especially as we have prepared an economic cooperation programme up to 2020 to be signed. It includes a strong plan of further action.

Thank you for coming to Moldova. I hope our discussion will be constructive even though you have had a busy day.

Vladimir Putin: I would like to congratulate you on a successful meeting of CIS heads of Government. It had been very thoroughly prepared. What matters most, the material submitted to us was interesting and highly informative. That is crucial to all of us at this difficult time.

As for bilateral relations, a great deal was achieved just recently. This year alone has seen a spectacular increase of trade.

Zinaida Greceanii: The turnover has reached $2 billion.

Vladimir Putin: Yes, two billion for this year, so we have a great deal to discuss. The programme of developing bilateral relations has also been drawn up very well.

Zinaida Greceanii: Thank you.
