Arkady Dvorkovich holds an on-site meeting of the working group for the development of biotechnologies

Participants of the meeting discussed the drafting and production of Russian innovative biotechnological medicines.

At the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Healthcare, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Education and Science said that it was important to consider the opinions of the regions where territorial clusters in the field of biomedicine are located during the drafting of proposals for the preliminary assessment of federal budgetary provisions for 2014-2016 regarding federal targeted programmes.

Improving state regulation of the circulation of pharmaceuticals, including legislative aspects and bringing the standards of pre-clinical and clinical studies into line with the European Union’s regulatory acts, were also discussed. Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich supported the proposal on regulations for innovative medicines, including those created with the support of the development institutions and under the federal targeted programme.

At the end of the discussion Arkady Dvorkovich ordered the Ministry of Industry and Trade, jointly with the executive agencies concerned, to draft and approve by July 1, 2013 the terms and criteria according to which pharmaceuticals manufactured in Russia using foreign components can be classified as Russian medicines.

The meeting was held at the ChemRar High-Tech Center in Khimki in the Moscow Region. Arkady Dvorkovich assessed the center’s research infrastructure and took part in the opening ceremony of BioIntegrator’s new biotechnological production.
