At the above meeting the parties discussed various aspects of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Belarus, plans to increase trade, prospects for investment cooperation, and the implementation of joint programmes in high technology, telecommunications, aerospace, pharmaceuticals and cultural relations.

The sides also discussed coordinating the two countries' approaches in the international arena and cooperating on security issues.

Following the meeting of the Supreme State Council, the parties signed a package of documents, including:

- An agreement between the Government of Russia and the Government of Belarus on Cooperation in the Antarctic

- An agreement between the Government of Russia and the Government of Belarus on Leasing Land to Belarus for the Belarusian Embassy Guest House.
