Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich on a working visit to Belarus

During his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, accompanied by First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko, inspected Gomselmash Production Association in Gomel. Mr Dvorkovich visited the company's harvester exhibition centre, the main assembly-line, and the central design offices. Konstantin Babkin, President of the Russian Association of Agricultural Equipment Producers, Rosagromash, and Rostselmash co-owner, who was in the Russian delegation, showed interest in cooperating with the Belarusian company.

The Deputy Prime Minister also visited Grodno Azot, a company that processes gas condensate and produces nitrogen fertilizers. Cooperation opportunities were discussed regarding the Belarusian company and Russian companies.

In Minsk, Arkady Dvorkovich visited MAZ Automobile Plant where he inspected the vehicles they produce and the main assembly-line.

During the talks, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich discussed cooperation prospects for companies in both countries. "We believe we have a huge potential for industrial cooperation," Arkady Dvorkovich said in his concluding remarks. He said that prospects for cooperation between Gomselmash and Rostselmash, MAZ and KAMAZ were worth considering. Also, the possible cooperation between Grodno Azot and EuroChem Mineral and Chemical Company was also discussed. Dmitry Strezhnev, the president of EuroChem, confirmed his interest in working out details for cooperation between the two companies. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, talks will be held this month between the Russian companies and Grodno Azot and MAZ, and a schedule for further cooperation will be established.

The Prime Minister also noted that the talks were constructive and effective. Mikhail Myasnikovich added that the discussion included the development of industrial cooperation.
