First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov holds meeting in Kaluga on pharmaceutical market

At the meeting, it was noted, in part, that the Government’s strategy of providing medicine to the population up until 2025 stipulates boosting competition in the pharmaceutical sector and increasing the quality, the availability, and the effectiveness of these drugs.

While speaking about the pharmaceutical market's future, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov stressed need to cut prices on medicine in pharmacy chains and to streamline drug procurement by hospitals and medical care centres.

Mr Shuvalov also praised the efforts of the Kaluga Region Government aimed at establishing a pharmaceutical cluster.

“Through this cluster, the Russian market will be saturated with quality medicine,” he said.
