Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin visits Iosifyan Space Monitoring Systems and Information Control and Electromechanical Units Research and Production Corporation

During his visit to the corporation, which is part of the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin toured the production floors of the Institute of Electromechanics and took an up-close look at a model of the Mikhail Lomonosov spacecraft which is designed to study the upper atmosphere.

Dmitry Rogozin toured the company's history exhibit, examined the unique 12-cubic-metre vacuum chamber designed to test and degas spacecraft, and spoke with head of the company Leonid Makridenko.

After visiting the Research Institute of Electromechanics, Dmitry Rogozin took reporters’ questions. In particular, he said that the Federal Space Agency has formulated a proposal to restructure the aerospace industry. “We plan to create five (core business) holding companies in the near future. Roscosmos has already formulated proposals, and they will be submitted to the Government this week,” Dmitry Rogozin said, adding that they will be carefully analysed, including by experts.
