Almazbek Atambayev: Mr Medvedev, I am happy to see you in Kyrgyzstan. I can say that this year, by working together, we have managed to begin a new chapter in the relations between our countries. We have taken the path that we should have taken long ago. I am glad that some minor differences and old mistakes have been forgotten. I admit that Kyrgyzstan was often to blame for this. Hopefully, our relations will only improve in the future. Of course, I am grateful for your support. I know that earlier today our finance ministers signed a grant for $25 million. We need this support very much. I am grateful to you, Mr Medvedev, to the Government of Russia and to the President of Russia. It’s a pleasure to see you.

Dmitry Medvedev: Mr Atambayev, I am glad to see you too. I would like to thank you for organising the SCO summit at such a high level. I am sure that this summit has been very useful to both Russia and Kyrgyzstan, as well as to other countries.

Today we have an opportunity to discuss our relations. I think you are absolutely right in saying that we have begun a new chapter and that all those unfortunate misunderstandings are a thing of the past. Today there are no obstacles to cooperation in the political, military, and economic spheres. Economic cooperation is more under my purview as Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and we hope that all the agreements we have signed will be implemented. The signing took place earlier today.
