Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin holds the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Socioeconomic Cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia

Participants:

Following the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin said that Russia is concerned by South Ossetia’s delaying the adoption of decisions needed to develop a long-term and medium-term strategy for the republic’s socioeconomic advancement.

Moscow is ready to provide assistance to Tskhinval in this matter, he emphasised.

“In 2013, we must work together to finalise the strategy for South Ossetia’s socioeconomic development, and draw up a clear programme, legal regulations and the corresponding sub-programme for implementing the strategy; and by 2014, we should start working to develop the republic’s socioeconomic sphere,” Mr Khloponin said.

Transparency will be the guiding principle in developing and financing the corresponding programmes, the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

The next meeting of the commission will be held in April, in Tskhinval.
