Russian-Vietnamese intergovernmental talks in Hanoi

Participants:

Dmitry Medvedev’s opening remarks:

Mr Prime Minister, my Vietnamese friends, we are happy to be here. We regard these talks as yet another step in developing friendly relations between the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Vietnam is our strategic partner in Southeast Asia; during our short but busy visit we would like to discuss various issues of cooperation with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam including economic issues, concession agreements, and a number of other items. In fact, we are beginning our discussion now. We are planning to sign a number of important documents, and I hope that this visit will be very productive.
