Dmitry Medvedev visits Golden Autumn 2012 Russian Agro-Industrial Exhibition

The Prime Minister had a look round the Agricultural Ministry’s stand, which featured an interactive map of agricultural projects in different regions of Russia.

He then visited a museum created especially for the exhibition which displayed agricultural exhibits from the All-Russia Exhibition Centre and the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy.

Following this, the Prime Minister inspected the exhibitions from the Russian regions.

Then he wrote an entry in the exhibition’s guestbook (which dates back to 1939) congratulating farmers on the upcoming Agricultural Workers’ Day.

After his tour of the exhibition, Dmitry Medvedev presented state awards to agricultural workers.

Held from 9 to 14 October at the All-Russia Exhibition Centre, the Golden Autumn 2012 Exhibition is part of the Russian Agro-Industrial Week and involves nearly 2,000 businesses from 61 regions of the Russian Federation and 37 foreign countries.

The Golden Autumn 2012 Russian Agro-Industrial Exhibition is Russia’s agro-industrial complex’s main exhibition. Since 1999, it has been the major platform in an inter-regional festival for achievements in agriculture, where the main issues of the domestic agro-industrial complex and national food security are discussed.

The 2011 exhibition saw the signing of more than 100 cooperation agreements, over 1,500 supply contracts, and nearly 1,000 agreements of intent worth over 49 billion roubles.
