Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev meets with his Moldovan counterpart Vladimir Filat in Yalta

Participants:

Transcript of the beginning of the meeting:

Dmitry Medvedev: Mr Filat, first of all I’d like to say that I’m very happy that we are able to meet so often. Your visit to Moscow is still fresh in my memory, and already we are meeting again, this time in Crimea. This is a good sign because friends and partners should meet often to discuss their achievements and problems that are always present in any bilateral dialogue. This is why I’d suggest concentrating on the results of your visit to Moscow, particularly the instructions we gave to our teams and colleagues. As you’ll recall, I formulated a package of proposals on gas and I’d very interested to hear what you have to say about this. It goes without saying we’ll discuss anything else you’d like to discuss.

Vladimir Filat: Thank you very much. It is very important for us to have this opportunity to speak and discuss all current issues. I’m sure we’ll be able to resolve all of them and plan major projects for the future. After all, men shouldn’t talk about problems all the time…

Dmitry Medvedev: And we are not talking about them.

Vladimir Filat: Thank you.
