Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev visits the military township Petrovskoye in the Moscow Region

Participants:

Dmitry Medvedev toured military unit No. 52096 with Minister of Defence Anatoly Serdyukov and Moscow Region Governor Sergei Shoigu.

The prime minister visited a local gym in need of major repairs.

"The conditions are just awful," Mr Medvedev said.

The prime minister also visited a kindergarten located in the military township. One of the kindergarten's buildings is dilapidated, while the other one has been repaired with funding from sponsors. A total of five million roubles were spent on repairs, township administration head Alexander Kotov said. Mr Kotov told the prime minister that the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare has made many warnings regarding the dilapidated building. These warnings are mostly related to standards of children's accommodations, services in children's institutions, and the number of medical personnel. Prime Minister Medvedev noted that the old building should be scrapped altogether, as there are no standards to talk about.

In the newly repaired building, the prime minister inspected children's bedroom, WC facilities and lockers. "Here, everything is as it should be," Mr Medvedev noted.
