Transcript of the beginning of the meeting

Dmitry Medvedev: Mr Prime Minister, I’m very pleased to meet with you. We are attending the same forum – Rio+20. This is a good opportunity to talk about the development of Russian-Norwegian relations. I believe they have become even more dynamic in the last few years and not without our contribution. I hope this trend will continue. Our companies are linked by major projects. We have common initiatives and share responsibility for the future of our northern region. Therefore, I’m ready to discuss with you all issues of mutual interest.

Jens Stoltenberg (via interpreter): Good afternoon, Mr Prime Minister. I’m also very glad to meet with you here, on the sidelines of Rio+20, and discuss all issues of common interest that we are actively working on. We can also review our excellent bilateral cooperation and discuss how we can promote it in the future. We can talk about our interaction in the Far North, the delimitation of our border, and the power industry, which is of tremendous interest to both countries.
