Transcript of the beginning of the meeting:

Karim Massimov: I would like to note that, when you were president you made your first state visit to Kazakhstan, and as prime minister your first visit is to Kazakhstan, too. As head of the government of Kazakhstan and as your friend, I believe that this is a sign of great trust. We are happy and confident that your visit and our mutual cooperation will benefit the people of Kazakhstan.

Dmitry Medvedev: Esteemed Mr Massimov, I was truly happy to make a state visit to Kazakhstan four years ago. As the new prime minister, I am once again making my first bilateral visit to friendly Kazakhstan. I am very happy that you and I continue our friendly relations. Today, we will hold talks on bilateral socio-economic cooperation which is very extensive. What can we say in this regard? Over the past year, bilateral trade turnover has expanded by almost a third. I will do my best to strengthen this cooperation that further links our countries with every passing year, so that we can maintain the most productive and cooperative relations.
