Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, on a working visit to Kazakhstan, meets with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev
During the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev said that over the past 20 years, Russia and Kazakhstan had established good neighbourly and equitable relations based on mutual respect.
Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed Dmitry Medvedev: "You accomplished much as president. The Customs Union has been strengthened; and the Common Economic Space continues to be developed. We have resolved many issues." Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed hope that Dmitry Medvedev's experience as president would help strengthen integration efforts.
The prime minister confirmed that economic relations between the two countries have improved significantly. "A lot has been done to resolve the issues of developing our economic union. A powerful integration union has been formed," Mr Medvedev said. "The tasks set forth in the 1990s have finally been implemented, and I am happy that we are involved in this," the prime minister noted.
