Transcript of the beginning of the meeting:

Dmitry Medvedev: Mr Sargsyan, first of all, I would like to welcome you in your new capacity and express my confidence that we will continue our cooperation and friendship, especially as our countries have special relations as allies.

Before we get started, I would like to congratulate you on your victory in the parliamentary elections, on the victory of the Republican Party, which you head and which won with a comfortable majority. I would like this victory to promote the sustained and productive development of Armenia as a nation, and, of course, to help address the large number of social and economic goals that you have set yourself. Of course, Russia will fully support these processes. We remain good friends and allies.

Serzh Sargsyan: Thank you, Mr Medvedev. I am very pleased. I will also begin with congratulations, since I didn’t have the chance to congratulate you in person. I wish you success. Your new position is very crucial in our relationship. I am confident that we will continue to strengthen the friendship between our countries in your new capacity. We are prepared for this. Thank you very much

Dmitry Medvedev: Thank you.
