Acting Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin takes part in an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media

Speaking before the participants of the meeting, Mr Rogozin praised the economic performance of the industry, particularly in terms of high technology, and noted that the industry is implementing ambitious and breakthrough projects. Regarding the sphere of his responsibility, the defence industry, he emphasised the special importance of cyber security in light of modern global challenges, adding that the foreign-made telecommunications equipment used in public networks, which are the basis of special-purpose networks, has not been not evaluated in terms of information security. In this context, Mr Rogozin urged the active development and introduction of domestically produced radio-electronic hardware.

Mr Rogozin outlined two main goals for the industry – to develop and produce in Russia secure modern telecommunications equipment and software, and to draft technical regulations and standards on the stability and safety of using the telecommunications resources of public networks for special-purpose networks.
