Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin travels to the Sverdlovsk Region on a working visit

The deputy prime minister visited the Ural Turbine Works where he inspected the departments of high-speed turbine blade processing, unit production, and steam turbine assembly. Dmitry Rogozin also assessed the production capacities of the company's equipment.

"We would like to outline the contours of efficient cooperation between the federal and regional authorities. It's impossible to precisely model the prospects for a concrete enterprise without incentives and a clear understanding of the country's industrial development plan," Mr Rogozin said.

Dmitry Rogozin visited the Ural Locomotives Company in the city of Verkhnyaya Pyshma. He inspected the departments of mechanical processing and mechanisation of the production line for assembling locomotives and electric locomotives produced at the enterprise.

Later Dmitry Rogozin held a meeting on the role and meaning of the military-industrial complex in the innovation development of the economy, as well as the establishment of a public-private partnership for designing and producing next-generation weapons, military and specialised equipment.

In his opening remarks the deputy prime minister noted that "the funds invested in the defence industry must not be spent on manufacturing thousands of metal boxes which will need to be utilised at some later date." He also stressed the need to attract private capital to the military-industrial sector and to introduce innovative technologies.
