Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visits the Moscow Planetarium on Cosmonautics Day

Participants:

The Prime Minister began his tour of the planetarium in a hall containing items pertaining to the history of the planetarium.

He then went to the Museum of Urania, the muse of astronomy, which contains a collection of 3D globes of the Earth, the Moon and Mars.

The planetarium was not closed to visitors during Vladimir Putin's visit, which is why he met a group of schoolchildren who were there on a class trip. "Have you seen the largest meteorite yet? Let's go have a look," the Prime Minister said to them.

Putin also visited the Big Hall of Stars, where various educational programmes are held. Together with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, he watched the hall's main programme, "Under the Planetarium's Skies."
