First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov chairs a regular meeting of the Sub-Commission for Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation and Protective Measures in Foreign Trade

Participants:

To boost the production of new-generation mainline passenger trains in Russia, the sub-commission agreed to reduce the currently applicable customs duties on traction and auxiliary converters from 10 percent to 5 percent and introduce individual HCDCS codes for these goods.

To improve the quality of services provided to people with restricted mobility at Russia's airports, sub-commission members decided to lower import customs duties on scissor lifts (ambulifts) from 25 percent to 5 percent for a period of two years.

The sub-commission considered a range of issues related to customs tariff regulations put forward by the Belarusian and Kazakh sides.

In particular, a decision was taken to further elaborate proposals to lower customs import duties on electronic payment terminals for credit and debit cards and the special brand of petrol N-Hexane (HCDCS code ТS 2710 11 250 0). The meeting participants considered it inadvisable to lower import custom duties on cyclic hydrocarbons given the insignificant amounts being imported into the countries of the Customs Union. At the end of the meeting, members of the sub-committee agreed to abolish the current 5 percent customs import duty on phosphates.
