First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov chairs a meeting of the Sub-Commission on Customs, Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation, and Protective Measures in Foreign Trade

Participants:

At the conclusion of the discussion, the participants in the meeting adopted a decision to extend the current import customs duty rate of 5% on certain types of coated paper and cardboard until December 31, 2012.

The participants supported the decision to apply zero import customs duty rates on certain types of components and parts for the manufacture of civil airliners.

Due to the high yield of sugar beet crop this year, the Sub-Commission members did not find sufficient grounds to make use of the institution of special exporters of white sugar in Russia.

The decisions are recommended for further consideration at the session of the Customs Union Commission.

The attendees recognised the effectiveness of extending the preferential conditions for paying export customs duties on crude oil produced at the arctic zone's continental shelf, namely at the Prirazlomnoye offshore oilfield. An analogous procedure is in effect at the oilfields in East Siberia and the Caspian Sea area.

At the end of the meeting, Mr Zubkov ordered the ministries and departments to look more deeply into the Belarusian proposal to expand the list of goods imported duty-free to the Customs Union's territory that are used for construction and operation of the nuclear power plant in Belarus during the guaranteed period of its operation.
