President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin go to the fields to see this year’s corn crops and try their hand at operating combine harvester during their visit to the Stavropol Territory

Participants:

Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin have visited the Rodina farm, where its director told them that this year the farm had gathered its biggest harvest ever. They were also shown crops raised at the farm, such as flax, soy, wheat and rapeseed.

Next the president and the prime minister operated two combine harvesters, driving the machines under the supervision of experienced combine operators, who gave instructions from the passenger seat. Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin then loaded the harvested crops into a KAMAZ truck.

"It was fantastic! I really enjoyed it," the prime minister said, adding he and the president gathered six tonnes of crops each.

Rodina was chosen for the visit following a recent videoconference during which the president and the prime minister had been invited by the company's machine operator Alexander Shavklis.
