Prime Minister Vladimir Putin expresses his heartfelt condolences over the Volga boat tragedy

During his meeting with economic scientists at the Russian Academy of Sciences, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin proposed to observe a minute of silence for the victims of the shipwreck on the Volga River.

“As you know, a terrible tragedy occurred yesterday – a cruise ship sank on the Volga River,” he said.

“This is a great catastrophe. The people were enjoying their voyage with their families, with their children. It is obvious now that the tragedy claimed dozens of lives. It is an awful calamity. I would like to express my support for the victims and express my most heartfelt condolences for the families of the deceased.”
