Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin attends a meeting of the Russia-China Energy Dialogue

"We have agreed on most issues and hope to make headway in discussing new long-term prospects," said Igor Sechin, opening an expanded meeting of the Energy Dialogue.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the bilateral cooperation had always been based on a high level of trust, which helped produce positive results. Igor Sechin stressed that today's meeting was not an exception, focusing on joint work in the energy sector.

"The main result of today's productive dialogue is that our level of mutual understanding allows us to solve complicated problems," Igor Sechin concluded.

Vice-Premier Wang Qishan of the People's Republic of China said energy cooperation was an important constituent of bilateral interaction. He noted the positive trends in the economies of both Russia and China, which he called the world's major energy producers and consumers. "This is a historic opportunity for the development of our energy cooperation," Wang Qishan said.
