During his tour, the prime minister was shown a fifth-generation gas compressor unit, one of the most advanced pieces of Russian-made machinery in the energy sector. The plant’s General Director, Gennady Lokotkov, told Vladimir Putin that five such units had already been installed at Gazprom’s compressor stations.

The prime minister was also shown items of equipment manufactured in cooperation with foreign partners. Perhaps most notably, the plant manufactures gas blowers and up-to-date equipment for high-speed trains in joint work with Germany’s Siemens group.

Continuing his tour, Mr Putin also talked to corporate workers and took part in signing a number of agreements.

For instance, the owner of the Nevsky Plant, REP Holding, and Inter RAO UES entered into a long-term cooperation agreement. REP Holding and MRSK Holding executed a similar document.

In addition, the Russian Technologies State Corporation and the Federal Grid Company of the Unified Energy System (FGC UES) signed an agreement to create, produce, and supply up-to-date, high-tech equipment for the unified national electricity grid.
