First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said during the meeting that Russia welcomes Belgian companies to enter the Russian market. "Russia has done much to improve the investment climate recently," he said.

However, the deputy prime minister said Russian officials are not satisfied with the current state of foreign direct investment and the amount of money drawn into the Russian economy. "Nevertheless, we are resolving these issues," Igor Shuvalov said.

"If companies have any difficulties, we are here to solve them; if anyone is interested in investing in the Russian economy, we welcome it," Igor Shuvalov assured Belgian Crown Prince Philippe.

Prince Philippe, for his part, stressed that many Belgian companies are willing to participate in projects related to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Belgium's Prince Philippe came to Moscow with a delegation of about 400 Belgian businesspeople from almost 250 companies.
