Mr Cinquanta thanked Mr Putin and all the members of the Union's executive committee for the decision to hold the figure skating world championship in Russia. He also noted that all sports fans, especially figure skating enthusiasts, met the decision with great enthusiasm and expressed the hope that the championship would be held to the highest standard.

In turn, Mr Putin pledged that preparations for this important sporting event would be carried out in close cooperation with Skating Union experts.
