Borut Pahor (as translated): Mr Prime Minister, ladies and gentlemen, friends,

At the talks with Prime Minister Putin, who is making his first official visit to Slovenia, we reached agreement on the main issues, which we will tell you about now. There is only one disadvantage to having a strong and trusting friendship – you can't stop yourself from discussing even more important issues. Overall, today we have reaffirmed our eagerness to further strengthen cooperation in the economy and culture. This concludes my opening remarks.

Vladimir Putin: Thank you very much, Mr Prime Minister. I would like to again thank you and your colleagues for this invitation. We really have touched on almost every issue involved in our cooperation, including energy, engineering, transport, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and new technology. We have set up several intergovernmental commissions; they all are up and running. I think we should give the floor to the co-chairpersons so that they can tell us in greater detail about our interaction. Thank you.

Upon concluding their talks, Vladimir Putin and Borut Pahor toured Brdo Castle together; at an exhibition in the conference centre, Mr Putin was shown one of the oldest surviving Cyrillic manuscripts – the Suprasl Codex.
