After speaking to the teachers, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin examined the school's new building, which had been rebuilt almost from scratch. The prime minister looked into a class where a creative lesson for young journalists was being conducted, and he asked the students: "What has changed in comparison with what was here before that tragic event?" They replied: "The school has become more beautiful and we have more equipment."

Then Putin went to another classroom to sit in on a lesson on hiking and tourism, and he watched the children put up a tent. After completing his inspection, Putin went to the gym, where school students were playing volleyball. "I came here when they were just beginning repairs, and everything looked so different. Now it's fine," he remarked and wished the players good luck. The students presented the prime minister with a T-shirt of the captain of the school's volleyball team. "You want me to be your captain?" Putin asked. "Then I will try to be worthy of this high position," he said, autographing the players' volleyballs and saying goodbye to the children.

School No. 30 was seriously damaged by the flood of October 2010. The ground floor was completely flooded. Rebuilding the school took 2.5 months and cost 49 million roubles, including 30 million from the regional budget. By now, the school's building has been fully restored and its classrooms have been fitted out with about six million roubles worth of equipment.
