First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov chaired a meeting of the Russian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission during his visit to Turkmenistan

Mr Zubkov said in the wake of the meeting that the price and amount of Turkmen natural gas supplies for 2009 would be determined along the way, adding that Russia and Turkmenistan had a long-term agreement stipulating amounts and the price formula.

"I think the price will be set and all minor points finalised when Gazprom CEO arrives here," he said.

The meeting also focused on the possibilities of Russian companies' participation in pilot agricultural projects. Mr Zubkov said these pilot projects would involve exchanges of agricultural professionals.

He also said Russia was ready to provide assistance to Turkmenistan in growing grain, corn and medick. Turkmen companies are applying to buy Russian farming equipment.

During his visit Mr Zubkov also met with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov.
