First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov attends the awards ceremony for the Russian government’s quality prizes

The prizes were awarded to Togliatti State University, AmmoPhos, the Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant, Gazprom Neft's Omsk Refinery, the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant (Krasmash), the Perm Research-Industrial Instrument Making Company, Medicina and the Samara Optical Cable Company.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vladimir Salamatov and Grigory Elkin, head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, attended the awards ceremony.

Addressing the audience, Igor Shuvalov said that promoting high quality requirements was critically important for economic modernisation. And he said that the prize was also awarded to medical enterprises and educational institutions.

"We will not achieve economic modernisation without quality medical services and modern technology in education," he said. "This is why I am asking you to promote a healthy lifestyle among your employees and to encourage their aspirations for vocational education."
