During the detailed conversation, the two discussed the pressing issues of bilateral economic ties between Russia and Moldova as well as joint efforts to increase cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Igor Shuvalov and Valeriu Lazar also discussed the progress made on the draft treaty on the CIS free trade zone and made it clear that they wanted it to be signed as soon as possible.
