First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov, who is on a trip to the Krasnoyarsk Territory, conducted a meeting of the Council for the Development of the Forestry Complex under the Government of the Russian Federation

Addressing the Council for the Development of the Forestry Complex, Mr Zubkov stressed the need to discuss the issue of introducing protective duties on the import of obsolete timbering technology.
Mr Zubkov pointed out that "not all the regions have submitted for approval the forestry plans and the forestry regulations. Unless we rectify the situation before the start of next year the use of forest resources will remain legally unregulated," he warned.

At the same time Mr Zubkov praised the work of the Krasnoyarsk Territory administration. The region, he said, submitted proposals for 33 investment projects. One of the largest projects is building a timber processing complex in the village of Boguchany in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Addressing the Council for the Development of the Forestry Complex, Mr Zubkov stressed the need to discuss the issue of introducing protective duties on the import of obsolete timbering technology. "If necessary we will take customs tariff regulation measures," Mr Zubkov said.

Also as part of his trip to the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Mr Zubkov visited KRASLESMASH, the only enterprise in the Krasnoyarsk Territory that manufactures timbering machines. He also visited the Siberian State Technological University.
