Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visits the Olympic training centre Ozero Krugloye

Participants:

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the training centre Ozero Krugloye, which has been used by Russia's national teams to train for Olympic Games and other international competitions since 2008. Sports and Tourism Minister Vitaly Mutko told the prime minister about plans to upgrade the centre.

Among other facilities, Mr Putin visited a swimming pool for springboard diving, which is equipped with cameras for capturing the details of the divers' performances for subsequent analysis. Similar equipment can also be found in the fencing room, which is intended for the core team of athletes who are at least 23 years old, but is also used by younger athletes.

Along with the sports facilities, Prime Minister Putin dropped in at a mobile medical laboratory used for checkups and tests.

He then went on to attend a meeting of the Council for Physical Fitness and Sports on the Ozero Krugloye premises. This council, established under the Russian president's auspices, is now focusing its attention on the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games, and the 27th World Summer Universiade in Kazan in 2013.
