Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visits Electrosila production facility in St. Petersburg

Participants:

The Electrosila production facility is owned by the Power Machines Company. Power Machines CEO Igor Kostin explained the operations of the production facility to Vladimir Putin, including the operations of the department that produces hydroelectric generators. The company is currently fulfilling a contract to produce and deliver generating units and other equipment for the reconstruction of the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant, whose 10 generating units were shut down in August 2009 following the disaster. The hydroelectric power plant is currently operating only two units, numbers five and six.

Mr Kostin told the prime minister that the company was prepared to deliver the third and the fourth units ahead of schedule. "We expected to deliver them in August. But now we are looking into the possibility of delivering them a month earlier," the CEO said. He emphasised that the company had maintained a strict timetable, sometimes even working ahead of schedule.

Afterwards, Vladimir Putin examined a protective mechanism for a hydroelrctric generator's rotor frame.

Following the tour, the prime minister spoke with employees at the production facility.
