Prime Minister Putin, together with Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov and Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu, proceeded directly to the crash site, where rescue workers continued to sift through the wreckage of the fuselage and remove the bodies of the dead.

After inspecting the crash site, Mr Putin left to attend a meeting of the emergency response team.
