Your well regarded forum has attracted businessmen and experts, and the directors of national tax agencies from over 45 countries, plus representatives from related international organisations. The agenda includes tax administration issues that are related to overcoming the lingering effects of the crisis, to increasing the transparency of the global financial system and to strengthening taxpayer confidence in regulatory authority.
Over 20 years ago Russia chose an open market economy. When looking to improve our tax legislation today, we consider international practice and look to further cooperation and an exchange of information. This includes cooperative audits and many other forms of assistance to our partners.
I hope that the 8th Forum for Tax Administration will help to resolve today’s pressing tax related issues.
