The message reads:
Esteemed Rabbi Lazar,
Please accept my sincere congratulations on one of the most significant holidays in the Jewish calendar - Passover.
It symbolises moral renewal and reminds us of the most important Biblical events: the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery and the receiving of the Ten Commandments. The tradition of Judaism, like other religions, is founded on the eternal principles of kindness, justice and mercy.
Today the Jewish community in Russia is actively involved in the life of the country and is making a big contribution to strengthening inter-ethnic and inter-faith harmony. Its leaders are doing a great deal to promote intercultural dialogue and expand international humanitarian contacts.
I wish you, esteemed Rabbi Lazar, and all followers of Judaism, good health, prosperity, success and all the very best.
Dmitry Medvedev
