“Fyodor Khitruk began his career at the renowned Soyuzmultfilm studio in 1937, and resumed work at the studio after fighting in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War. He is rightfully referred to as a legend of Russian animation. A gifted director, a writer and an artist, Khitruk created over 200 animated films, such as “Winnie the Pooh,” “Boniface’s Holiday,” “Island,” and “Film, Film, Film!”, which are loved by children and adults alike.
“Khitruk’s memory will live on through his family, his colleagues, and his many disciples and audience members.”
