“Our task is to support businesses with realistic production plans. I am referring to the real sector of the economy, to industries that manufacture products in demand, but that are facing difficulties today because of dramatic changes in the business environment.”
"One of the benefits of Sberbank, on a par with public confidence, is the vast inherited chain of branches. It is, however, something of a burden because some branches operate at a loss. Sberbank cannot abolish this chain. In a way, you pay for government support by maintaining this chain. We cannot afford to close local Sberbank offices before there are other opportunities for quality bank services in every Russian town and village."
The state of the Novgorod region’s economy was discussed at the meeting.
The topics discussed were the fulfillment of the Government’s anti-crisis measures in the Yaroslavl Region, the relationship between the real sector and the financial institutions and the state of the region’s agriculture.
“In 2010, pensions must grow 45.9%, with the average old-age retirement pension exceeding 8,000 roubles. The criteria for calculating the amount will become fairer and take into account an individual’s actual labour contribution.”
“It is not easy for everyone right now during the crisis, and sport clubs are even worse off than industrial companies. That is why I have instructed my colleagues to lobby Siberian-based companies for assistance to your club. Business is going well for these companies despite the present-day difficulties.”
