The Commission is a coordinating agency set up to ensure the coordinated efforts of the federal bodies of executive authority in the development of radio and television broadcasting.
The Commission has the following responsibilities:

to set priorities in the attainment of the main objectives in the development of radio and television broadcasting with due regard for economic, financial and other possibilities of the state;

to coordinate the efforts of the federal bodies of executive authority to preserve the common information space and facilitate the creation of radio and television programmes and the broadcasting infrastructure;

to draft proposals on the improvement of legislation for the development of radio and television broadcasting;
-
other tasks in this sphere.
