Council for the Development of the Forestry Sector

Yury Gubin: Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Economic Security and Corruption Prevention at the Ministry of Internal Affairs;

The Council is a permanent deliberative body, established to draft proposals on the implementation of the state policy in the sphere of the forestry sector and forest industry development.

The Council has the following responsibilities: to conduct preliminary examination of draft legislative acts and other regulatory documents as regards the organisation and development of the forestry sector and the timber market;
to examine and draft proposals on attracting investment for the development of the forestry sector, enhance the competitiveness of timber products and develop the forestry sector's potential in science, technology and innovation, and prepare proposals on protecting, preserving and reproducing national woodlands; 
to assess the state of the forestry sector and its development prospects, and other issues as regards the development of the national forestry sector.
