Members of the Commission found a proposal to extend the non-duty import of natural rubber for another nine months reasonable. Following a discussion, the Commission also decided to recommend that the Government approve import rates on standard plastic accessories for eyeglass rims at 15% of their customs value. In relation to accessories from other materials, it was proposed to set zero rates. Such a differentiated approach takes into account the interests of Russian producers of protective eyeglasses.
After repeated consideration of new export customs duties on nickel it was decided to set duties at 5% of the customs value from December 1, 2009.
Export customs tariffs on unprocessed timber in 2010 will be examined at the next meeting of the Commission.
