Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Ivanov said, in part, that military exports would exceed $8 billion in 2008. The Russian defence industry has showed positive trends in recent years, as confirmed by Russian producers' advance into new foreign markets.
"Most importantly, we are emerging on the markets where our military goods have not been featured before," he said, adding that Russia continued to maintain its position as one of the world's top three arms exporters.
"It must be said that this market is not showing any signs of decline even despite the global financial crisis," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
The state has assisted and will continue to assist the strengthening of the Russian defence industry's authority and influence throughout the world.
