A few changes have been introduced to the official website of the Russian Government www.government.ru/en/, including design, technology and structural updates. The homepage has been redesigned, the number of sections reduced, and navigation has been made more intuitive.
Among other things, the Working Day section has been replaced with two new ones, News and Transcripts. Press Service Announcements are now posted in a single newswire.
An information block featuring links to articles on key aspects of the Government’s work is now featured on the website’s homepage, integrating the former Featured Items and Daily Agenda sections.
Instead of flash technologies and bitmap images, the new version of the website features an adaptive design consisting of various elements, such as maps, as well as microformats and other types of semantic markup. The 16:9 aspect ratio supports HD video.
The updated pages of the Russian Government website are adapted to touchscreen devices and meet World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards.
The listed technologies, along with design and structural solutions, were also applied to the website of the Prime Minister at www.premier.gov.ru/en/.
Some pages of the Government website show the old design while work to update the site and introduce the new unified format continues.
